Music Theatre of Connecticut to stage ‘GHOST’ musical adaptation
There’s nothing ghostly about this news! Ghost: The Musical is making its way to Fairfield County, CT as it prepares to be staged at Music Theatre of Connecticut in Norwalk, CT. This is the fifth production in the theater’s 2024-2025 programming slate.
Ghost: The Musical is a adaptation of the 1990 cult classic romantic fantasy thriller film of the same name. The musical takes its premise directly from the film, in which two lovers named Sam and Molly are attacked as they are returning to their apartment. After Sam is fatally shot, he becomes caught between the real world and the next and enlists the help of a medium named Oda Mae Brown, who helps him get in touch with Molly to warn her of the danger that she is in.
The first production of Ghost premiered at the Manchester Opera House in Manchester, England in Mar. 2011. The production was staged in London’s West End in the summer of 2011. After a successful run at the Piccadilly Theatre, the production transferred to Broadway for a production at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater from Apr. 2012 to Aug. 2012. After a strong UK national tour, the show had its first North American tour beginning in upstate New York in 2013. Ghost: The Musical has since been performed in multiple international cities including Germany, South Korea, Italy, and Singapore.
Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) is helming the musical at their Equity theatre house located at 509 Westport Ave in Norwalk, CT 06851.
